Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman has been an outstanding psychologist since 1993. She is also the director of the Center for Public Policy Research, University of California Davis. Her name is widely praised as the pioneer of modern research of child eyewitness memories and using child victims to testify as legal witnesses. Prof. Goodman has published extensively as well as received numerous grants. She has also been recognized with numerous national and international distinctions. She has worked with many governments and organizations across the world on studies and policy issues pertaining to children who are victims of the legal system. She works as a Consultant to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center - formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center - of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a member of several professional associations which include those of the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for Children and Families Policy and Practice American Psychology Law Society Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 56) Professor Goodman is a member of the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children as a founding Member, International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She was the president of 3 divisions (Division Society for Policy on Child and Family and Practice Division, American Psychological Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology) and one Section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
